Musings of a Two-and-a-Half-Year-Old

"How about I don't whine, okay Mommy?"

(During a recounting of Goldilocks and thee Three Bears, when Goldilocks goes to sleep in Baby Bear's bed) "But who can sing Goldilocks a lullaby?"

Me: If you eat five more noodles, you can have more applesauce.
Asher (who knows perfectly well how to count): Here's one! (chomps a noodle) Here's two! (chomps another one) And this is five! (chomps a third)

Asher:  Can I call you 'Kristi'?
Me:  No, you can just call me 'Mommy'
Asher:  How about I just call you 'Kristi' one time?
Me:  Okay, one time.
Asher:  Kristi!  Hahaha!!!  Mommy, I called you 'Kristi!' Hahahahaha!!!

"Goodnight Simon! I love you! One day, when Simon is bigger, he can say, 'I love you too' to me."

(During a telling of The Three Little Pigs, when the straw house gets blown down) Sigh "Now they will have to build it again."

(Holding up a potato) "Daddy, you are a papá, just like this papa."  (laughs at his own joke)

Asher:  Hey, Mommy, do you remember when we watched Cars?
Me:  Yes, I remember.
Asher:  Do you remember when we ate ice cream?
Me:  Yep.
Asher:  Do you remember Simon?
Me:  Yes.
Asher:  Do you remember me?

Me: If you bang your fork on the table, I will have to take it away.
Asher: We don't take things away from people. That is not kind.

What?! No comments?! These are hilarious. The kind of wonderful stuff that childhood is made of.
