Figuring It All Out

Asher is slowly figuring out how the world works.  He loves turning the pages of books, opening and closing things, spinning anything that turns, moving his mouth around to see what kinds of noises he can make, and hitting things against each other (especially if they make interesting sounds).  This morning, I caught him showing evidence of having figured out a couple more things.  Here he is sucking on an empty cup that I left on the floor.  He picked it up, put the lip in his mouth and started making slurping noises.  The cup was completely empty, but the lack of liquid flowing into his mouth did not deter this little stalwart.  (Mom and Dad do this with these things, right?)And here he is squinting in preparation for the camera flash.  I guess I've paparazzied him enough times by now for him to know that when the camera comes up a bright light will soon be flashing in his face. :)
So, there you have it.  Soon he'll be able to explain how things like electricity and the stock market work.

He's brilliant! When do I get to see him in real life?

He probably knows just as much about the economic collapse as anyone else ;)

Can anyone explain how the stock market truly works? Hmm.

Spinning things, eh? Sounds a lot like his dad if you ask me...
