Asher wants a lot of things. I know, because he has told me once or twice. Or a maybe a few more times than that. He isn't even aware yet of any sort of connection between Christmas and stuff-getting, and his wish-list is already much longer than his receive-list will be. We don't talk about Santa Clause at our house. We don't have a TV, so he hasn't seen any toy commercials. But Asher has friends who possess toys that he does not. And let me tell you, he's a pro at coveting his neighbors' die-cast cars.
And sometimes, while Asher's listing off the things he'd like to have "one day" for the millionth time, I find myself inwardly grumbling about how greedy he is and vowing never to buy him another toy. And then it occurs to me that the list of things I would like to have one day is a whole lot longer than his, and the things on it harder to come by. And then I have to wonder how my list looks to my Heavenly Parents, and I decide that Asher's probably isn't so bad after all.

It is okay to have a "want" list, as long as you are also thankful for what you already have :)
