Open to Interpretation
Last Sunday, after church, Asher's nursery teacher told me that they had played a follow-the-leader game during class. At one point in the game, the instruction was given to "tap your toes." So far as I know, nobody has ever asked Asher to tap his toes before, so he doesn't really know what that means. Apparently he understood the words, however, because he started hitting his shoes with his fingers.
A few days ago, Asher cut his finger. It wasn't a bad cut, and he didn't seem to be in pain, but he was very upset about the "strawberry jam" on his finger.
Yesterday, as Asher and I were driving to the grocery store, I rounded a corner and moaning ensued from the backseat. I asked Asher what was wrong and he informed me that the sun was shining on his nose.
I talked to my mom on the phone a few days ago and she asked if it had been any warmer here. I told her that it had been up into the upper 20's. While Asher and I have been taking advantage of the warmer weather by spending more time outdoors, my mom didn't seem to think that a high of 26 was very exciting. I realized that, a few months ago, I wouldn't have either. I guess, given some time, even adults can learn to interpret the world a little differently.

the strawberry jam thing is really cute. Gosh, and i thought it was cold here! We've been in the 30's, today was a balmy 40 so we opened all our windows to celebrate (while neal sat sunbathing in jordan--at petra no less). erin and micheal would think that we were both nutso.

Welcome to the midwest, and break out the shorts and frisbee :)
Now that's I'm moving to Georgia, people keep telling me that I'm going to love the weather there. It's interesting to me that people can't fathom that I might actually like the cold and not like the heat.
When ever y'all get tired of the cold, just remember you're living my dream.
It's closer to 32, which means spring is coming.
Hey! I was reading your post about the bread heel quandary, and have found myself in a similar position. We like to make croutons out of our leftover bread (or homemade rolls that don't turn out) Just coat them with olive oil, herbs and spices of choice, and bake them at 300 until crispy! Solves the heel problem while avoiding sogginess!
For Parker it was ketchup on his finger...
i hate it when the sun shines on my nose too
