Socks

I remember when my mother told me, many years ago, that I was too old to wear socks to church and must now wear tights.  I have since graduated to pantyhose, which, it just so happens, are even thinner and less warming than tights.  What does this all mean?  It means that every Sunday from October to March I have cold toes.  The even sadder thing (if anything could be sadder than that) is that I have felt recently that in order to look cute, or in-style, or whatever, I cannot, in fact, wear socks anywhere.  Those ballet flats that started popping up everywhere a while back, that I love, and that I now own several different pairs of, have taken over.  (And you just can't wear socks with ballet flats... I tried once and my sister gave me the look.)  It seems that socks are now for indoor use only.  This means that my toes are not only cold on Sundays, but whenever I leave the house.  Well, I've had enough.  It's time to do something... time to take a stand... time to buy some really cute boots.

Heehee! I love it! Buck the fashion and make your own statement. It could be something like, "I like socks."
