Mangoes

Today, while I was drinking my favorite flavor of Jamba Juice--Mega Mango--I thought about my two friends who are getting married next month:  Anthony and Angie.  It just so happens that Anthony is violently allergic to mangoes.   Sad as it is that he can never have mango, even sadder still is the fact that he is so allergic that if somebody... say, his future wife... were to eat something containing mango and then kiss him, he would have a reaction.  I can tell you what would have happened if Hugh were that allergic to mangoes:
Hugh-Will you marry me?
Me-Yes!
Hugh-You know that means that you can never eat another mango, right?
Me-(sobbing)
Anthony, I hope you know how lucky you are.  That girl must really love you.  Maybe we should throw her a bachelorette party and serve all kinds of delectable mango dishes.  Then she can scrub her lips and give her teeth a thorough brushing and swear off mangoes for the rest of eternity. :(  Every marriage has its challenges, I guess.

hahahahaha - this is fabulous! you have no idea how many times I'll be eating something w/ mango in it and be like, "Wow, Anthony really does have such a deprived life."

way to sacrifice, Ang ;)

You know, I was willing to pack up and move to Iceland when I said, "I do" but I have to admit... I don't know that I would have been willing to give up mangoes... Sorry Anthony! I guess that's why it never worked out between us... since there was so much between us...

Thanks girls! It's nice to know that people understand :) But it's not just food, I'm also forbidden to ever wear Mango Mandarin lotion from Bath and Body. He read the ingredient list and it has real extract of mango... C'est la vie :)

Too bad he's allergic to mangoes because they're a superfruit and highly nutritious. However, mangoes are part of the Anacardiaceae family and are related to cashews, pistachios, and poison ivy. Is he allergic to those things too?

In case anybody really wants to know, Anthony IS allergic to poison ivy, but he is NOT allergic to cashews or pistachios. So, if you were making dastardly plans to poison him with some nut-filled holiday treats, nature has thwarted you.
